Rob, a boy from Towson, MD, met Hilary, a Fenwick Island native, in the summer of 2010. After college and some traveling, Rob and Hilary settled into life around the same beach that raised her. They spent their 20’s working in hospitality and learning everything they could about the industry. It wasn’t long though before they knew they had bigger dreams for their future. 

 

In 2023, Rob and Hilary were fortunate enough to purchase Ocean Side, a Fenwick Island favorite since the 70’s. Known as the go to place for awesome meals at the beach, the landmark has fed long lines of locals and visitors for nearly half of a century. Since her early years, Hilary witnessed the lines of familiar customers winding past her father’s neighboring store, Fenwick Island Surf Shop. 

 

With their own unique spin, Rob and Hilary embarked on a journey to continue Ocean Side’s proud status as a Fenwick Island staple. You can always find locals grabbing a bite to eat, from the old school surfers to the farmers who supply Ocean Side with the freshest ingredients. 

 

Life in Fenwick Island gifted Hilary the ultimate childhood. Rob and Hilary hope to continue the same culture for generations to come- including their three sons, Rob Jr, Rhett and Ford. Fortunately, Rob loves Hilary’s close-nit family, particularly Hilary’s sister, Emma, who took over Fenwick Island Surf Shop from her father.
